Book Review - Our iceberg is melting

In the movie "Prince", the Queen summons the American girl who won the hearts of his son, the sole heir to the throne of Denmark, in his kingly office. The queen says: "I do not like change. I do not like change. I like consistency. I like traditions. But when that change is for the better I have to reconsider." This came after weeks of excuses to hate the American girl who is to be the next Queen of Denmark ...

Our iceberg is melting, (St. Martin's Press 147 pp.) by John Kotter, a Harvard professor and Holger Rathgeber, a business manager does not just speak of change, creatively show eight effective ways to bring positive change to any situation or the organization through the life of Fred, a young penguin inexperienced.

Fred the protagonist discovers a problem that will destroy the lives of thousands of people in the colony of penguins, if not the entire colony. But, do not have a position in the colony to be heard by the Leadership Council or reputation to request time to speak during the town meeting, if he did, probably would not be taken seriously.

Fred knew in his heart penguin that the problem would be a catastrophe, but worried about how to obtain the Leadership Council to listen and buy-in the problem without teasing himself and not ruin his reputation profile. After all, the penguin colony is a dense colony. And, having a vision of seeing a problem that no other penguins can see Fred make the new laughing stock of the colony.

This comic book illustration for adults is an easy to read and use the power of networking and team building to save the colony and eventually grow beyond any imagination penguin. Fred gets the help of fellow penguins Alice, Louis, Buddy, and his early support and cheering squad of penguins.

Although, the visionary Fred penguin who discovered this disastrous problem could only highlight the problem and provide the evidence needed to demonstrate the threat is real. But, lacking the necessary solution to help the colony, that he understood.

So, having gotten the attention of the Leadership Council with his opponents, the problem becomes a crisis colony. Becomes the responsibility of the Leadership Council to protect the colonies of penguins and provide for its growth and success in this emergency situation, especially for young people.

Our iceberg is melting, is a unique work of showing that the majority of problems whether personal or business in any condition can be solved with the right strategy in place and when it is well supported by those in positions to make a change positive and can make it happen.

This book is great for managers have difficulty producing a change at any level with their staff. It 's also the agent that I can not understand how and why the change is expected in business organizations and unexpectedly. This book gives a brief lesson in change management for any business professional .......
