Characteristics of Scientific Knowledge, Method, Science
Science is a way to get scientific knowledge, that has a method (that distinguishes it from other forms of knowledge), whose essence is the testing of hypotheses, therefore, to be scientific hypotheses must be susceptible to be distorted. One of the main elements that distinguish scientific knowledge from other knowledge, is the "Method" (set of rules accepted by the scientific community).
Scientific knowledge is hypothesis and contrast. The factual sciences namely biology, sociology, history, physics, chemistry, require observation and experimentation. They are based in the reality of the facts. The falsification occurs in reality. The formal sciences like mathematics and logic, do not require testing because they provide a rational level. The falsification occurs in the reasoning.
Features of "scientific knowledge": 1) must be "rational" science is a set of ideas, 2) must be "objective" attempt to verify the ideas we have of the facts, 3) "transcends the facts," part of the bulk of the facts are the facts dismisses superfluous select the ones that you think are relevant, explained in terms of laws and theories, 4) "Analytical" actually breaks down into parts, distinguishing its parts;
5) "Specialized", specializes in different parts of reality, 6) "Clear and Accurate" is not vague or superficial; 7) "Contrast" to contrast mechanisms are checking or verification, should make a hypothesis and seek to test falsification or verification and should formulate a hypothesis and try to falsify it;
8) "communicate", can be expressed and to reach out to others; 9) "Method", is planned and coherent 10) "General", try the generalization to the whole; 11) "Legal", attempts to structure laws; 12) "explanatory" why and how?, phenomena occur; 13) "predicts", can act on reality; 14) "Open", always waiting for new things that maybe we demonstrate that so far is correct and it is not.
Scientific knowledge is achieved by means of "Reason", based on the "Senses". This knowledge is organized, systematic, graduate, and seeks to understand the universe. "Critical" because the observed data subject to testing, to find the precise truth of things. The forms of knowledge are not nested, none of which is more important than the other.
First Steps of the scientific method is "scientific research" begins with a hypothesis (start and end rationally), we conclude with a "Law." We found four states: a-"Idea of Worldview" is the global vision produced in the world. Answers to fundamental human problems;
b-"idea Paradigm" is a theoretical model and then build the theory. Khun said that great changes in science occur when falling and there are new paradigms that replace c-"idea of Theory", attempt to explain something subject to the investigation will show whether right or wrong. Theories can not be investigated directly by generality must be a previous stage that is the hypothesis;
d-"or system Hpótesis Hypothesis", that set of assumptions should be related. For a system should contradict any hypothesis, all must discard theories.
